The Then Grim Circus

Heart thumped with eager expectations.
Mind felt numb with racing thoughts.
And lips quivered with a nervous smile.
Sounds like a first date.
It was the first date!

The first time I set my foot in the then grim circus.
The otherwise bright faces with suspicious stares held my gaze.
A fear lurked in those shadowy corners of the pure pearl like innocent eyes,
And clouds of  joyless curiosity I deciphered in them.

It was the first moment of my first date with the beloved tiny gifts of life.
Disheartened I did feel but determined I was to break down the fort.
As I maneuvered the day, they sized me up,
The date then melted into the start of a lifelong beautiful relation,
A relationship of trust and mutual respect, that of friendship and guardianship.

The journey has lead me to the sight of a fair and  the truths of life
The grim circus is now a safe hub,
A hub to celebrate victories, to exchange easy smiles and never ending stories.
Fight the loosing battles and emerge wiser than before.
Those grimly moments have now perished,
Lost in the fog of cherishable ones and mischievous innocent eyes.

It is no more the then grim circus!
