The unconscious mind, thou soul, the third eye
And the magnetic sense are thou eyes,
A window to the second world,
A world where thou seeks a reason for existence
And breathe’s the pleasure of kinship
A kinship with a second soul,
A kinship with a peak,
A peak reached by sparring with much,
All that is sought, is sought for the first world,
The world within, the home of the third eye,
It feeds on it all,
Savoring it through the resonance with the magnetic sense,
The sense gazes through the window, and plucks the string,
The string of thou invisible Setar,
A Setar holding the soul and the sense together
A Setar it is which keeps the harmony of life playing.

  1. I feel like I’m listening to you play the setar with you reciting these worse, mesmerizing Pranita.. πŸ™‚

  2. Beautifully written! I am fascinated by your last two lines
“A Setar holding the soul and the sense together
A Setar it is which keeps the harmony of life playing”.

What I understand is that it is the hollowness and the emptiness of the Sitar from which flows the divine melody. So also if we keep our mind hollow and free of ego will we sense the harmony of life playing.

    Thanks Pranita.

    • Thank you so much for finding such deep meaning in my poem! And indeed without ego, our spirit is always more perceptive to the love and beauty on the world:)
