Realms, Fire and Ice

Each realm of a living being,

Gliding along, strutting too, through a placid void

Void by itself, perturbed by a stream of molecules

Molecules the Soldiers, their realms emanating heat,

Fanned by the stream of its mates and nemesis,

At times mistaking one for the other, or finding both to be one,

A soldier’s survival instinct,

Either one could turn to ice more frozen than ice itself,

Or burn to keep the foreign heat off their territory, of their skin,

Each a molecule a soldier riding towards a hopeful end

Clutching, gripping on to the reins of an illusion,

An illusion of at least an impending purgatory,

If the void is not purgatory by itself,

Frazzled yet trudging on,

Baffled if the end unseen has been touched,

If the end indeed has an end,

And if the fire and ice are going to survive the ride.
